That’s a mushroom. You should probably sift those wood chunks out of their or soil will remain wet and the seedlings will have a hard time growing.

You might find it helpful: when planting seeds of dubious quality, I will usually cast them all in one big tray like a takeout container or something. Then prick out the sprouts (if any) and put them in their cups. Saves space in the end, over having a tray of pods and only a couple germinations.
