Bought a Reaper!

Yesterday i bought a Carolina Reaper plant. Its my second year of gardening so im really inexperienced.

Should i remove those side shoots to promote the plant to grow taller or i should leave them?

Last year i removed the lowest leaves to help with air circulation and to prevent pests and other diseases.

I think the plant looks healthy, but what do you think? Any tips?

There is no reason to defoliate an outdoor pepper plant other than disease or pest damage. Just give it water, balanced fertilizer and a whole lot of light and it should be just fine!
