A friend gave me some small pepper seedlings in late spring. He called them mushroom peppers. I planted them and they continue to produce. I have searched mushroom pepper but there is nothing online to help me id them. Everyone at his hunting camp calls them mushroom peppers so, I suppose it’s a local thing. They have a heat somewhere between a jalapeno and a habanero. They lack the depth of flavor (fruitiness) of a habanero and have a flavor profile similar to an unripened ghost but with a lot less heat.
