The aroma of boiling crawfish, the sound of live music drifting through oak trees and the buzz of a lively crowd will once again fill Oakridge Park this weekend as the Rotary Club of Golden Meadow hosts its 4th annual Crawfish Boil, Music Fest and Vendor Show.
Set for Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., the popular event has quickly become a community staple, drawing families, friends and visitors from across the region for a full day of food, entertainment and local flavor. This year’s boil will feature plates priced at $15 per person, each serving up three pounds of crawfish with all the fixings on the side.
Beyond the food, attendees can expect a festival atmosphere with local vendors setting up booths, offering everything from handmade goods to unique finds. Live music will keep the energy flowing throughout the day, starting with Ruff N Ready from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by Benjamin Bruce and the Acadians from 1 to 4 p.m., and wrapping up with Tommy G and Stormy Weather from 5 to 8 p.m.
Adding to the family-friendly lineup, an Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 2 p.m. at the Oakridge Park baseball field. Children are encouraged to bring their own baskets for the free event, which will also include opportunities to take photos with the Easter Bunny. The activity is made possible through the support of local sponsors including Lafourche Fire District No. 3, Golden Meadow Rotary, Ba-Bo’s Bar, The Balcony, Me-Maw’s, The Puppy Parlor, Lafourche Concert & Events and Bless Your Heart.
Organizers say the event is designed not only to bring the community together, but also to celebrate local culture and support ongoing Rotary initiatives.
