A Broncos-themed eatery and a local seafood chain are coming to Denver International Airport, although not for years.
Broncos Mile High Grill will be located on Concourse B, while Jax Seafood House will open on Concourse C.
The latter is a slight rename of Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, which has four locations between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs.
Denver City Council signed off on leases for both restaurants last month. Ashley Forest, a spokeswoman for DIA, said the leases start in 2029.
Both locations will be operated by Virginia-based SSP America, which specializes in airport restaurants.
According to city documents, Broncos Mile High Grill will occupy 3,800 square feet and invest at least $6.4 million to build out the space. The restaurant will pay either $2.4 million annually or 17% of food and drink sales and 19% of alcohol sales — whichever is higher, except for year one, when the sales calculation would be used.
Jax’s space will be slightly larger at 4,100 square feet but the required $6.4 million investment will be the same. It will pay either $2.1 million or 16.5% of food and drink sales and 18% of alcohol sales — again whichever is higher, except for the first year.
Forest declined to name what existing concepts the restaurants will replace.
