Crab House in Modesto, CA, serves boils, baskets and wings

For an inland city, Modesto has a good number of seafood options. It just got one more.

Crab House opened on Coffee Road near Bella Italia on July 14. It serves seafood boils, po’ boys, wings and fried seafood baskets.

I was unable to reach the owners despite a drop-in at the restaurant and social media messages, so I don’t know much of the restaurant’s backstory. It does not appear to be part of a corporate chain or franchise.

Customers can customize their own seafood boil or choose from one of the combo options. Combos range from $24.95 to $52.95.

Seafood options are shrimp, crawfish, clams (including manila clams), green mussels, black mussels, lobster tail, blue crab, Dungeness crab, snow crab legs and king crab legs.

You then choose a sauce (Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper and house special) and a spice level from no spice to extra hot.

The restaurant also serves fried seafood or chicken po’ boys and baskets, chicken wings, seafood spaghetti and appetizers.

Crab House, at 2625 Coffee Road, is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
