QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – A national chain, known for its hoagies piled high with top-quality meats, cheeses and a unique blend of spices, is continuing to grow its footprint.
A new location of PrimoHoagies has opened at 1463 W. Broad St. in Quakertown.
The eatery, open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, occupies an updated space that previously housed a SuperCuts location in the Quakertown Plaza shopping center.

The company uses recipes passed down through generations for its iconic hoagies, which feature layers of Thumann’s gourmet meats and cheeses, a secret blend of spices and locally sourced, fresh vegetables on seeded rolls that are baked fresh throughout the day.
The business’ diverse menu features a variety of cold and hot hoagies, cheesesteaks, wraps, vegetarian options, antipasti salads, chips, drinks, fresh-baked cookies, and more.

For the past three years, PrimoHoagies has been named the No. 1 best sandwich or sub shop in USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
“PrimoHoagies isn’t just a sandwich shop — it’s an East Coast staple built on bold flavors, premium meats and cheeses, and recipes rooted in Italian American heritage,” a message on the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice website reads.
“With 10 distinct categories on the menu, there’s something for every craving; from the fan-favorite Italian Classics like the Sharp Italian, to Philly Cheesesteaks and signature Schwartzies, each hoagie is handcrafted to perfection. Even the Meatless options, like Nonna’s Veggies with eggplant and broccoli rabe, deliver that same Primo flavor.”
Under the leadership of owner, president and CEO Nicholas Papanier Jr., PrimoHoagies continues to build on a legacy born in South Philadelphia and fueled by family and tradition.

Papanier Jr. has led the brand to achieve monumental growth — celebrating the business’ 30th anniversary in 2022, expanding to more than 125 stores and nearly doubling annual sales to $90 million in 2023.
“Since becoming CEO in 2019, Papanier Jr. has strengthened PrimoHoagies’ foundation, modernized its systems, and positioned the company for national expansion,” a message on PrimoHoagies’ website reads. “Despite rapid growth, the brand remains family-owned and privately operated – a distinction he proudly protects as PrimoHoagies continues to grow.”
More than two dozen other regional PrimoHoagies locations operate in Berks, Bucks, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties.
Another Primo Hoagies location previously operated in Quakertown over 15 years ago on South West End Boulevard.
“For over 30 years, PrimoHoagies has offered a culinary experience that celebrates tradition, quality, and the unmistakable flavor of Philadelphia,” Papanier Jr. stated on the business’ website.
“Our mission at PrimoHoagies is to enrich communities with the core of our family tradition, embodied by gourmet hoagies made exclusively with the freshest Primo ingredients. From our award winning seeded bread to Thumann’s meats and cheeses, we source only the best because we believe that our customers deserve nothing less.”
