MORGANTON, N.C. (WBTV) – A beloved Burke County barbecue restaurant announced Saturday that it will permanently close this week after 25 years in business.

Butch’s BBQ & Breakfast, located on Burkemont Avenue in Morganton, said in a social media post Saturday, July 18, that it will close for good at 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 22.

Brian Goldstein, the restaurant’s president, said the decision was not made lightly and that, since opening in 2001, the restaurant has been honored to serve the community and build lasting relationships.

“Your support, laughter, and shared moments have made our journey unforgettable, and we are so grateful for every customer who has come through our doors,” Goldstein said. “The support shown by the people of Morganton as well as the surrounding counties has been truly remarkable.”

“It has been our pleasure to serve you for the past 25 years,” Goldstein said. “We extend our deepest thanks to our loyal guests, dedicated staff, and community partners who have been part of our story.”
