Tennessee Valley health inspections were out in force this week and found an excessive amount of live gnats, food being stored at the wrong temperatures, and a cook who did not wash their hands after handling raw foods.
More than 250 establishments were inspected.
This health inspection observed the cook bread raw chicken with gloves on, and then remove one of two gloves to handle ready-to-eat food without washing their hands in between. The inspector noted chicken soup was not properly stored and cooled. The chicken soup was stored in a large stock pot cooling at 47 degrees Fahrenheit when it should have been held at 41 degrees Fahrenheit. It was stated that the soup needs to be discarded as a precaution to prevent any illness. Also, pesticide spray bottles containing acid were observed to be unlabeled in the kitchen.
Health inspectors found an excessive amount of live gnats in the establishment. The report observed dishes and utensils not being properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized. Additionally, raw shell eggs and whipped cream were being stored at the wrong temperature. The inspector noted the eggs and whipped cream were being held at 52 degrees Fahrenheit when they needed to be held at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below.
The health report notes multiple items like raw chicken, lettuce, cooked shredded chicken, and salsas were being held with no date markings. It was also observed that items like sliced cheese, raw shrimp, and raw chicken were not properly stored at the right holding temperatures
