JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – A beloved taco truck that was destroyed in a sudden, terrifying explosion sent a local couple to the hospital nearly a week ago with severe burns.
Tiffany and Tim McPherson are the owners of TNT Taco Truck and their world suddenly turned upside down.
“We’re just so thankful they’re alive. It’s insane. Like I am just so grateful that they are alive,” said Jada Pastrana, the McPherson’s daughter.

That moment of relief, coming after a terrifying explosion that ripped through the McPherson family’s food truck, TNT Tacos, on June 4.
Tim McPherson went to ignite the grill when a flame shot up from the bottom and roared up and over, engulfing the truck. The scene that followed was something Tim McPherson will never forget. It’s also when he took action to save his wife’s life
“My dad said he could literally see the skin melting off of her body and it was the most terrifying thing he had ever seen in his life. His natural instinct was to run through the flame to go get my mom and he was like, “We need to get out of here or we’re going to die,” so he grabbed her,” said Pastrana.
His wife Tiffany and himself both suffered severe burns and their daughter Jada says they are doing as well as they can.
“They’re both as well as they can be at the moment. They’re in a lot of pain, but they are doing ok,” said Pastrana.

The McPhersons started TNT Tacos nearly three years ago in West Tennessee. earning a loyal following but the community that supported them is now showing up in a different way, rallying behind the family as they recover.
“My mom was crying the other day. She was like, “I can’t believe it’s doing so well.” they are just so thankful and grateful,” said Pastrana.
According to Pastrana, the cause of the fire has not yet officially been determined but for right now, the focus is on Tiffany and Tim’s recovery.
