Now as you may know this is rated at 357,000 SHU. I’ve been the spice game for quite a while now and can handle a pretty exceptional amount of heat, but this sauce never disappoints when it comes to it. However I feel that this sauce feels way hotter than it’s rated. I even had a bottle of Elijah’s Xtreme Regret Reserve (1M SHU) to put up against it and this tastes just as hot, if not a tad hotter. Anyone else that has had this feel the same or is it just me? What are your guys’ opinion on this sauce?

Flavor-wise it’s the fruit stripe gum of hot sauces. It’s hot with a long burn and has a sweet smoky flavor that lasts for like a half a second, and then it tastes like shit. I’ve yet to find anything it pairs remotely well with.

This stuff is brutal. I remember taking wayyyy too much the first time I ever tried it.

Super hot id say it could be rated lower than it actually is too

Elijah’s Extreme Regret Reserve is nowhere near 1 million SHU. It’s probably not even over 100K SHU.

It’s extremely difficult to get hot sauces beyond that point without using extract.

I remember when these used to come with the little bullet key chain that would unscrew and a tiny coke spoon would be inside lol

It’s pretty hot. That’s the most I can say about it. Personally I expect more from a sauce like tasting good

Elijahs Xtreme Regret is made with ingredients around 1M SHU

MadDog 357 has extract that brings it up to a true 350,000+ SHU.

This is the hidden danger of The Last Dab shouting that it’s 2,000,000+ SHU. It’s made with ingredients that hot, but the sauce itself is only 50k-70k SHU.

So people who crush the last dab have a false sense of how much they can handle and proceed to get crushed by a Carolina Reaper pepper.

Still won’t be anywhere near 1 million SHU. It’s just not possible with a natural pepper hot sauce. In fact I’m not sure it’s possible for anything that would be considered a hot sauce and not just a bottle of mostly extract.

1 million SHU is close to pepper spray. That’s no longer hot that’s debilitating.

Plus, even fresh reapers aren’t close to 1 million SHU. The Scoville scale is based on dried peppers and fresh peppers are 90% water.

Regret Reserve may be 70% peppers but that’s reapers, scorpions, and habaneros. Plus there’s the cooking process and the vinegar that breaks down some capsaicin.

The Last Dab Xperience tested out at 60K SHU and that’s supposedly 91% Pepper X which is even hotter than reapers.

Da Bomb tested out at 170K SHU and that’s an extract sauce.

Tabasco Scorpion, which most people consider to be very hot, is 23-33K SHU.

There’s been a one-upmanship marketing game where a lot of sauces claim ridiculous SHU numbers and people believe they’re eating things with far higher numbers than they are.

Pepperhead of 30+ years here.. this sauce is worthy of it’s name and has withstood the test of time. An OG if you will. So much of this newer generation stuff is mostly novelty.

I can vouch for the heat in that. Lol

This was my gateway drug. Always liked spicy food, but one time i put this on my sandwich at firehouse…the pour spout was missing, so I accidentally caked my Sando. I ate it like a boss, then whimpered in my car as I rubbed ice cubes on my lips as the A/C blew heartily upon them.

20 years later and everything gets scorpion or hotter.
