I like Texas Pete over Louisiana and Crystal. Call my taste unrefined but when the tendies come out Texas Pete does as well.

  1. The best thing about hot sauce is you get to find out what you like.

Bland food is bland, and hot sauce is not.

  2. borider22

never had texas pete. thank you for the recommendation

  3. Arrant-Nonsense

It’s okay. You’re allowed to like it.

  4. gratusin

Texas Pete tastes even better in the individual packets than a bottle. Must be the added micro plastics.

  5. onlysaysisthisathing

All three are great on their own, but in my opinion, Pete’s is the one best suited for jazzing up condiments like mustard, mayo, and especially ketchup.

  6. sheep_duck

I feel like the uncultured one for thinking all 3 taste similar enough that theyre interchangeable

  7. Hully1525

Texas Pete – made in North Carolina. That’s the first red flag, the second is there is no heat and a lot of salt. Absolute trash sauce – god bless you.

Texas Pete’s rocks and won’t be hearing other opinions.

Anything is better than Louisiana, though I personally give Crystal the nod over Texas Pete. But it is a close second for “Louisiana-style” hot sauce.

I’m saying this as a basic sauce enjoyer, not as a snob. I don’t like it. It’s always had an almost synthetic sweet flavor to me. Maybe I’d like that garlic one though. Not big on regular Tabasco but their habanero is top 3 sauce I’ve ever had

Texas Pete is my go to everything-sauce. I think i like the vinegar more than the spice, but it just pairs perfectly with everything. I even put it on crackers and eat it like that. Great opinion

  12. OwlfaceFrank

I always have 1 bottle of basic Louisiana style sauce. I rotate between Franks, Texas Pete, Louisiana, and Crystal.

The other day I was at a local shop that has a ton of different hot sauces, and I saw one called Ass Blaster and the bottle comes in a box that looks like an outhouse

There were probably at least 75 other similar examples of hot sauces with the silliest, raunchiest names you could think of. Many of them make “Ass Blaster” look positively tame by comparison

I really don’t understand how anyone could see all that stuff like that and then still take hot sauce seriously enough to judge other people on which ones they like

All that to say: like what you like, it’s fine lol

  14. WoodenCrate

Other hot sauces taste good on chicken. Texas Pete is MADE for chicken. Love that stuff.

  15. Turdfurgesonshat

I’m not a huge fan of the original, but the Sabor and this garlic one make their way into my cart when I see them.

Speaking of which – anyone know of similar ones to Sabor?

  16. This is the best tasting basic hot sauce!! I always add a little Cajun spice and a lot of minced garlic to each bottle.

Best tasting overall hot sauce by far is Marie Sharps.

  17. the_mow_down

TX > LA in all aspects, not just with hot sauce 🤣

  18. PeorgieT75

It’s not very hot, but I like the flavor of the original.

  19. JayyyyyBoogie

Texas Pete is a little more him, but I think it’s great on eggs or fried potatoes.

  20. dillybar1992

I used Texas Pete exclusively when I was deployed and the garlic was the go-to until they ran out. After that, the plain was used on EVERYTHING since ship food has no flavor. Messed up my digestive system though. Miss that sauce.

  21. OscarOfAtlantis

I was surprised at how good Texas Pete is. I love all the flavorful garlic reaper sauces and other fancy sauces.

But I also love Tabasco, Cholula, Frank’s ,and Texas Pete. These are probably my top four “mainstream” hot sauces.

  22. I_like_cake_7

Honestly, same. Texas Pete is 10/10 on pizza.

Not a crime to enjoy the sauce, a crime would be not experiencing other flavors/sauces
