The Little Rock Compassion Center is in need of food donations as pantry supplies run low, officials said.
Food supplies at the center are “desperately low” with immediate donations needed, the Compassion Center said in a news release Thursday. The nonprofit serves around 600-800 meals each day, the release said.
“Our pantry shelves are nearly empty,” executive director Pastor William Holloway said in the release. “If we don’t get help from the community, we may have to cut back. We’ll never turn hungry people away, but we may not be able to serve adequate meals.”
The center is especially in need of canned goods and nonperishable items such as pasta and rice. Fresh produce, potatoes and all sorts of meat are also needed, the release said.
Food donations can be dropped off at the Compassion Center’s main location at 3618 Roosevelt Road.
The center provides breakfast to overnight guests and lunch and dinner to anyone in need of a meal. Food boxes are also provided monthly to those in need, the release said.
Demand for meals has increased as Arkansans continue to face food insecurity, with 37% of the state unable to meet food needs in a 2025 survey. Higher food costs have increased the center’s reliance on donations, the release said.
Those interested in donating can also purchase nonperishable food items through an Amazon wishlist or make a tax-deductible financial donation to the center, the release said.
All donations will go directly to those in need in the Little Rock area.
“Meals can make the difference for someone trying to avoid homelessness,” Holloway said in the release. “Everything you can donate will go from your pantry to ours and right out the door.”
