PARK CITY, Utah — The Christian Center of Park City will host its annual Hike for Hunger event from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Utah Olympic Park, bringing together community members for a day of outdoor adventure while spotlighting the fight against food insecurity in Summit and Wasatch counties.
Tickets are $25 for an individual and $75 for a family of up to five. Admission includes access to Utah Olympic Park adventure activities such as zip lines, the alpine slide and ropes courses, a full meal, live music, and a Hike for Hunger T-shirt.
Tickets can be purchased online or at any Christian Center of Park City store at the register.
Jessica Bryant, deputy director of grants and marketing for the Christian Center of Park City, said this year’s event includes all the same UOP activities as last year, plus a few additions, all included in the price of admission. Attendees can also add a bobsled experience for $20, more than $80 off its regular price.
When buying tickets, attendees can also sponsor a family. Bryant said staff uses those add-on tickets to invite community members in need or food pantry guests to attend the event.
Hike for Hunger supports the Christian Center’s food pantry program and raises awareness of the resources available to families across the area.
CCPC wants people to know food insecurity is real, even in our community, and that the organization offers easy ways to get involved, such as volunteering or donating.
Fighting food insecurity in Summit and Wasatch counties
The Christian Center of Park City is a humanitarian community resource center that works to improve the lives of people and communities by meeting immediate and basic needs. Its programs include free food pantries, mobile food pantry events and door-to-door pantry programs that reach community members throughout Summit and Wasatch counties, as well as the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation in Ibapah.
Beyond food access, the center offers a mental health counseling center, seasonal support for families such as school supplies and holiday assistance, eviction prevention services and a Native American outreach program.
