I start all my stuff from seed and tried several new types of pepper this year. I have never tried padrons before, so picked some today and fried them up. Supposedly, every 1/10 can have a jalapeño-level of spiciness. We tried three in a row before deciding we were going to hurt ourselves from how freaking spicy they were. So, my question is, are these padrons? Did I or the company who sold me the seeds mess up labeling? I tried habs this year but they did not germinate (or so I thought).

Last year my padrons were crazy spicy. This year they were more manageable. I read that if you let them grow bigger that 2.5 inches long they get spicier. So I have been picking them smaller this year. Yours definitely look like padrons though
We’ve found with reasonable reliability that the ones that look a bit “scrunched up” are inordinately spicy. The friendly Padron are nice and long and smooth lol
We’ve had crazy heat this year and a lot of spicy ones and I read that stress turns ‘em mean
