American fast food chain Dave’s Hot Chicken teases Belfast location

A popular American restaurant looks like it has eyes on opening in Belfast.

The tease comes after Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first Irish location in Dublin on Dame Street in June of this year.

And Belfast could be on their list of new stores following a raft of TikToks that used the hashtag Belfast in the captions. Earlier this year, the fast-food spot, under its parent company Azzurri, which owns Zizzi and Boojum, announced plans to open 60 more Dave’s stores in the UK this year alone.

The chain specialises in chicken in various forms, such as tenders, burgers, and chicken bites. They also have a range of sides including fries, kale slaw and mac & cheese.

The social media posts had various captions like “New towns, new cities, new countries. Where are we hitting next? #Belfast” and “New store coming soon… Guess where!!! #Belfast”.

Alongside the recent Dublin opening, they have also opened locations in other major UK cities, including Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff, and Birmingham.

Dave’s Hot Chicken began in a car park in Los Angeles in 2017, with three friends pooling their $900 in savings to kick things off and it has grown rapidly in the nine years since.

No further information on exactly where in Belfast the new location will be and Azzurri has been contacted for comment.

It is the latest of a whole host of fried chicken chains like Popeyes, Wingstop and Slim Chickens to arrive in the city.
