St. Basil Greek Food Festival celebrates 67 years in Stockton
The 67th Annual St. Basil Greek Food Festival in Stockton offers authentic Greek food, live entertainment, and cultural experiences through Sunday
STOCKTON, Calif. β
The Annual St. Basil Greek Food Festival began today in Stockton, featuring authentic Greek food, live entertainment, and cultural activities.
The festival, now in its 67th year, includes traditional Greek food, baked goods, shopping, and live music. This weekend, attendees can enjoy traditional Greek dancing, live performances, and church tours.
Organizers said they have been preparing for months to bring the event to life.
βWe start about two months before the festival begins putting up,” said Peter Maduros of the St. Basil Greek Food Festival. “You know, we start building up the outside and we start speaking some of the things that can be frozen. But really, the 2 or 3 weeks before are the busiest.”
This year, organizers prepared over 7,000 pieces of baklava for the event.
The festival runs through Sunday, with tickets available at the gate for $5. Children under 11 are admitted free.
