Momofuku’s New Sauces Will Make Weeknight Meals A Breeze

A couple of months back, we were talking about some of 2027’s biggest food trends – which I realise was potentially slightly premature, but I had to do something to get away from talking about Dubai chocolate and hot honey every five seconds. We need to move the needle here, folks! Anyway, in that article, one thing we mentioned was a potentially increased push from celebrity chef-led brands and an influx of new products from the likes of Marcus Samuelsson and Momofuku, if some of the items profiled at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York were anything to go by.

We’re now starting to see said products hit our shelves. Momofuku has just announced its new sauces, and they sound pretty good. Let’s discuss.

Momofuku Cooking Sauces

Yesterday, Momofuku Goods, the pantry staple line developed by chef David Chang and the Momofuku Culinary Lab, announced a new line of five cooking sauces. These sauces are designed to provide flavor at any point in your meal: You can use them to marinate, to baste, to drizzle, to finish, and everything in between. The idea, according to its press release, is that you can bring the flavors of a restaurant into your very own home with these bad boys.

The five sauces are:

Chili Crunch Sauce: Taking the perennial popularity of chili crisp and running with it, this one transforms Momofuku’s own Chili Crunch (which we ranked as one of our favorite chili crisps) into a free-flowing sauce. Expect chili crunch, miso, and garlic notes, with a pop of smooth heat.

Momoyaki Sauce: Momofuku’s twist on a teriyaki sauce, and again inspired by another flavor in the brand’s portfolio (this time, the chicken marinade at Bāng Bar, this one combines soy, ginger, and garlic.

Sweet & Spicy Sauce: More inspiration ahoy! Prompted by the original rice cake dish at Momofuku Noodle Bar, its new Sweet & Spicy Sauce has gochujang, soy, garlic, and sweet notes.

Sweet & Sour Sauce: Remix! Momofuku takes classic sweet and sour sauce and puts its own spin on it, combining vinegar, Chili Crunch, and ginger.

Miso Ginger Sauce: This sauce is inspired by the galbi marinade at Los Angeles’ Majordomo, and brings together miso and fresh ginger. Bright, savory, slightly floral.

Well, These All Sound Delicous. Where Can I Find Them?

You can find them in a bunch of places. They’ll be rolled out over the next few months in retailers like Target, Publix, HEB, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Albertsons, HyVee, and more, and you can also find them online at Amazon or shop.momofuku.com. They’ll be available through those e-commerce platforms in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out. The sauces are expected to retail at around $7.99 to $8.99, which is slightly on the pricier side, but it’s aiming for quality here — and I like the little twists going on, too.
