Attention, Costco shoppers! There is a mystery afoot, and it’s one customers can eventually eat. Costco has been teasing the return of a long-lost food court item, and some internet sleuths are betting it will be a beloved sweet treat.Â
On Wednesday, September 16, Costco took to social media to release a teaser video about bringing back a food court favorite to the menu at stores across the United States. However, the video did not confirm which item was returning. Many speculate in the video’s comments that it may be the twisted churros, and there may be some truth to those claims.Â
On Reddit, a post on the Costco subreddit about the mystery item has garnered more than 1.5 thousand comments, including several from people claiming to be workers at the box store chain. Nearly everyone who chimed in agreed that the twisted churros will be returning. Still, many commenters can’t help but wish for their favorite bygone items to stage a comeback, like the elusive pizza combo or the hand-dipped ice cream bars.Â
MySA has sent a media request to Costco to confirm which item is being added to the menu, and we will update this story if we receive a response. In July, we reported that one San Antonio Costco will receive more than a new food court item; the location on UTSA Boulevard is expected to undergo a major $750,000 overhaul of its food service area over the next several months.
