After over three years of business in Edmonton, The Lunchbox just announced it will be closing its doors at the end of this month.

The Lunchbox has been an Edmonton deli and sandwich shop serving the community for the past few years. If you were looking for a classic deli sandwich or a quick bite to eat, this was definitely one of the go-to spots in the city.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, the business released a statement online about the upcoming closure as well as some clarity on the situation.

“Our building is undergoing a major redevelopment and our space is needed as part of those plans, so unfortunately our time at this location is coming to an end much earlier than we ever imagined,” writes the team on Instagram.

The Lunchbox will be officially closing at the end of September. Though the team teases that this may not be the last time we see this sandwich shop, nothing is confirmed.

“As for what’s next for Lunchbox, we’re not really sure yet,” adds the team. “We’re going to take some time to figure that out. No promises, but we’re also not closing the door on what Lunchbox could look like in the future.”

There’s still time to enjoy, so don’t hesitate to visit The Lunchbox ahead of its closure. It’s open every day, so grab some friends, get a sandwich, and take in the vibes while you still can.
