Iconic American Chef Emeril Lagasse, whose foundation for his culinary empire was launched at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans, is opening a new Louisiana signature steakhouse in the state capital.
Emeril’s Chop House is set to open Sept. 24 at the L’Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge.
“With Emeril’s Chop House, we are excited to create a restaurant that delivers the very best — exceptional steaks, the freshest seafood, signature dishes you won’t find anywhere else, and handcrafted cocktails that complete the dining experience,” Lagasse said in a news release. “It’s about the best quality ingredients, bold flavors and that unmistakable Louisiana hospitality that makes every meal feel like an occasion.”
Legasse will be on site to attend a public ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Sept. 24 that will be followed by an after party in Edge nightclub featuring New Orleans jazz and blues singer John Boutte. Admission is free. People must be 21 to attend the after party.

“Baton Rouge is a city known for great food, warm hospitality and a deep sense of place,” Lagasse said.
The restaurant features seating for 175 guests, including a private dining room, bar and new lounge area with contemporary design elements and views of the mighty Mississippi River.
“We are excited to open the newest dining destination in Baton Rouge and welcome Emeril to our wonderful team,” said Jeremy Fontenot, vice president and general manager, L’Auberge Baton Rouge. “This enhances our position as the premier entertainment destination in the region. To borrow a line from Emeril, we’re kicking the fun up a notch with his signature flair and the bold flavors that are synonymous with Louisiana cuisine.”
Lagasse operates four restaurants in New Orleans, including his flagship Emeril’s, which earned two Michelin stars in November as one of the top restaurants in America.
His son, E.J. Lagasse, is the top chef at Emeril’s in New Orleans. E.J. Lagasse also earned the Michelin Young Chef/Culinary Professional Award.
