I wanted to make a chili oil using Carolina Reaper for the heat and some other peppers for the taste. However, when I went to Amazon, the cart became excessively expensive. So, I decided to explore chili blends. Is Flatiron a good brand? I’m interested in trying their black chili blend, but I’m concerned about the ratio of each pepper in the blend. Originally i wanted to make the following recipe:
1 dried Carolina Reaper, crushed
2 dried Arbol chilies, crushed
2 dried Kashmiri chilies, crushed
1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns, lightly crushed
1 tsp Aleppo pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp minced dried garlic
1 tsp dried shallot
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar

Flatiron is delicious. No salt. Not sugar. Just flavor and pain. Highly recomend.
I bought a big multi-flavor pack from flat iron. Every single one has been excellent.
I got to a point where I used more flatiron than I did hot sauce. It’s very good. Of the two you’ve posted, I liked using the 4 pepper blend on bacon. The other is very hot and I don’t know what I’ll use it on. I like spice but that one does indeed live up to its name and is too much for this old man
This sounds like chili crisp / chili crunch / Xiāng là cu and not oil.
Anyhow, Flatiron is one of the pillars of this subreddit for a good reason. They make wonderful stuff. Dunno how well it works for making a crunch but I can’t feel my face is pretty hot.
We got a tiny container of one of their products from our pizza place and it’s taken us forever to use it because it’s so hot (I can’t believe they just have it out in a shaker). We call it the devil’s asshole.
Make sure to buy it directly from their website. It is cheaper and the shipping is quick enough.
