New Orleans police investigating stabbing at French Quarter restaurant bar

Metia CarrollNEW ORLEANS —

New Orleans police arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed a man at a restaurant in the French Quarter.

The incident happened at Rampart Treehouse in the 700 block of N. Rampart Street around 12:45 p.m.

Police say two employees of a linen service company engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim, which then turned physical, resulting in the victim being stabbed.

The suspects, who police identified as Corey Daniels and Willie King, left the bar and were later arrested.

Police say Daniels was arrested and King was questioned before being released.

Rampart Treehouse released a statement on the incident:

“Earlier today, a member of our kitchen team was injured during an altercation involving individuals who were at Treehouse in connection with one of our third-party vendors.

We want to clarify, particularly in light of some of the reports circulating today, that this was not a random attack involving a member of the public or a guest of Treehouse.

Our team member is stable and receiving medical care. We are deeply shaken by what happened, and our immediate concern is his well-being and making sure he has the support he needs. No one should have to experience violence in their workplace.

We have ended our relationship with the vendor involved and are cooperating fully with law enforcement. An individual involved in the incident was arrested, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Because there is an active investigation, we will not speculate about the circumstances surrounding what happened or publicly identify the individuals involved. We also will not share additional medical information without our team member’s permission.

We know our neighbors, guests, and friends have questions, and we will share additional confirmed information when it is appropriate to do so.

Thank you for your concern, your patience, and for caring about our Treehouse family.”

This is an ongoing investigation. No other information has been provided at this time.
