Wingstop bringing first location to Hanover area

A nationwide buffalo wing chain is planning to open its first location in the Hanover area, according to realty and job listings.

A recent property brochure from Bennett-Williams Commercial Realty lists Wingstop as the upcoming tenant of Suite 1290 in the Clearview Shopping Center, located at 1000 Carlisle Street in Hanover.

The space is a 2,000-square-foot middle-of-the-row unit, according to the brochure, neighboring Hanover Floor & Stone to the left and a vacant space to the right.

In addition, the company recently listed a “General Manager” position for the upcoming Hanover location, according to an online job listing.

“This is for a New Restaurant Opening,” the job listing shared, which identified the address as 1000 Carlisle Street.

Two other locations of Wingstop are already open in York County, one on Loucks Road in York City, and one on East Market Street in East York.

Founded in Texas by Antonio Swad and Bernadette Fiaschetti in 1994, Wingstop recently claimed the title of fastest-growing restaurant franchise in the United States in 2025, according to QSR Magazine.

In accomplishing that feat, Wingstop had opened a reported 382 new locations in the United States in 2025 alone, bringing the franchise to a total of 3,056 locations worldwide.

Wingstop is a fast-casual restaurant with counter service that primarily focuses on boneless or bone-in buffalo chicken wings, along with a variety of sauces and dips.

Sauces routinely offered on the menu range in spiciness from a mild Hawaiian sauce all the way up to their specialty “atomic” hot sauce.

The restaurant’s menu additionally features chicken tenders; a chicken sandwich option; cajun fried corn on the cob; and fries which can be ordered as cheese fries, as “Louisana voodoo” fries with ranch dressing and cajun seasoning, or as buffalo ranch fries with hot sauce and ranch dressing.
