A Mexican fast food stall that’s been around since 2002 just reopened at Richmond’s Lansdowne Centre food court with a new sleeker look.
Lansdowne’s Taco Luis closed on August 31 for what it posted would be a three to four week renovation, and it’s now back.
The menu hasn’t changed.
What did change is the counter.

There’s a new yellow sign with dark cactus silhouettes behind the lettering, orange and white geometric pattern on the back wall, and patterned hexagon tile along the front of the counter.
A banner across the glass reads “WE’RE BACK & BETTER THAN EVER!” and promises 10% off all items to celebrate the refresh.
Staff weren’t sure how long the discount runs, and guessed it would likely last until the end of October, so don’t count on it past then.
The menu tvs still run on numbered combos, Super 1 through Super 10, built around tacos, burritos, taquitos, nachos and tater tots, with a coconut shrimp plate in the mix.

A beef Super 1 combo is $13.99 before the discount.
The tots keep coming up in online reviews.
Taco Luis has been family owned and operated since 2002, and longtime shoppers may remember it from the old Oakridge Centre food court too.
The makeover puts it in step with the rest of the food court.
Grill King and R&H have both reopened this year with sleeker counters, after also being in the food court for decades.
Lansdowne has always been rather busy before these renovations.
But it has gotten even more busy as One Cafe has drawn long lunch lines since it opened in July.
Two more stalls are still in progress in the same food court, Roastory Asian BBQ and Freshly Squeezed.
Taco Luis joins other recent Richmond openings like Lucky Star Chicken Cafe, H&A Art Caffè and Xiaoyu Bistro.
