Man do I love datil peppers. The vinegar is great on fries. Very similar to Steak n Shake. Excited to try the sauce on the far left. That and the blue bottle I’ve never had. I live in Central IL. Can’t ever find datil hot sauce up here.

Recent trip to St Augustine

My grandparents lived in St. Augustine, got me hooked on datil peppers back in the 80’s I guess, when I was a kid. Datil Do It was the first one I remember – kinda like spicy ketchup. They moved up here in the early 90’s so I lost my hookup by the time I was in high school. I probably went 20-25 years without having any datil sauce, and then e-commerce made everything available again. Now, I used Hellish Relish on my hot dogs the other day, and I keep a bottle of Devil Drops in my office for lunches. I’ve kept that stuff stocked for a long time – combination of taste and nostalgia for me.
