On Thursday, Oct. 8, the fast food chain unveiled the new Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada, which was previously teased at its Live Más Live 2026 event.
The new dessert “transforms Milk Bar’s iconic Birthday Cake flavor into a crispy, golden Taco Bell empanada topped with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles,” per a release the company shared with PEOPLE.
The empanada will be available for a limited time starting Thursday, Oct. 15, at participating locations. It includes custom packaging and costs $3.49.

challenge,” Christina Tosi, chef and founder of Milk Bar, said in a statement.
“What I love most is seeing a flavor people know so well show up in a way they never expected,” Tosi added. “The best part is you don’t need a birthday to enjoy it. It’s the perfect treat whether you’re celebrating something big or small, and we can’t wait for fans to try it.”
To celebrate the new addition, Taco Bell is giving Rewards Members a choice of a Birthday Cake Empanada or Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze as their birthday reward from Oct. 15 through 28.
Taco Bell’s past collaborations with Milk Bar include Strawberry Bell Truffles in 2022, which featured the dessert brand’s Cake Truffles with taco shell pieces.
In 2025, the two brands released Birthday Cake Churros, which were filled with birthday cake frosting and finished with pink confetti sprinkles.
Taco Bell recently revealed another new partnership.
The chain announced it was launching a Duo Habanero Sauce with the language lesson app Duolingo on Oct. 6 (National Taco Day).
The limited-edition Duo Habanero sauce has a “bright, tangy flavor” and “a kick of fruity habanero heat,” according to a release shared with PEOPLE.
“Bold enough to match its namesake, Duo Habanero isn’t one to go unnoticed,” the release added, referring to the Duolingo mascot, named Duo.
