Love this hot sauce. Not a fan of some of the ingredients (citric acid, xantham gum, preservatives). Does anyone know a sauce with similar taste but better ingredients?

What bothers you about citric acid or xanthan gum?
Also, why do so many people consistently misspell “xanthan” as “xantham”?

Yes, nothing wrong with those ingredients. Totally safe and just used to preserve and thicken. Wonderful sauce..no equivalent. Stop being a snob.

Marie Sharp’s Fiery Hot (gold label) and Firecracker Authentic Trinidadian are both delicious options with clean ingredients lists.

Why against the xanthan gum and citric acid?

Not because of those ingredients (I think) but something about this particular sauce does *not* agree with my body–would also love to know similar alternatives as I really like the taste!

You’re against citrus juice? And What problem do you have with xanthan gum?

Preservatives I can understand, but citric acid and xanthan gum at those quantities there’s nothing wrong.

Most sauces with have these things in it. They are not necessarily bad for you and prey common ingredients in bottled sauces.
It’s acid for the sour punch and a thickener for consistency.

Matouks if you can find it (only seen it is south florida) is top tier

Unless you’re literally drinking this stuff, you’re gonna want those preservatives. This is one of my favorite sauces!

Marie Sharps makes clean sauces. Idk if any of them can really match this one, but they’ve got good stuff.
