Potbelly, the iconic neighborhood sandwich shop, is expanding its Central Florida footprint with a new shop opening Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Corta Commons in southwest Ocala.
The opening marks the brand’s entry into Marion County and joins more than 15 shops currently operating across Florida. Situated within the Shoppes of Corta Commons, a growing, Sprouts-anchored, mixed-use destination along the State Road 200 corridor, the new location puts Potbelly amid an expanding mix of retail, dining and residential development in one of southwest Ocala’s active growth areas.
Experienced multi-unit restaurant operator and Potbelly franchisee Danish Alidino is behind the new Corta Commons shop. Alidino and his partners at Deli Management LLC own and operate multiple restaurant concepts throughout Central Florida, bringing extensive experience leading teams and serving communities across the region. After opening his first Potbelly shop in Lady Lake, Florida in 2025, Alidino is continuing to grow with the brand while expanding his longstanding presence in the Ocala market.
“I’ve been part of the restaurant community in Ocala for years, so I’ve had a front-row seat to how much this area has grown and evolved,” said Alidino. “Bringing Potbelly here gives us another way to serve a community we already know well. Our goal is for this shop to feel like part of the neighborhood from day one.”
To celebrate the opening, Potbelly will host a Grand Opening celebration on October 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, where the first 50 people in line will win Free Potbelly for a Year. A ribbon-cutting and other festivities will also be available for all attendees to enjoy.
The Corta Commons shop will serve the brand’s signature lineup of toasty sandwiches and wraps, fresh salads, hand-dipped shakes and freshly baked cookies. Regular operating hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Guests can order ahead or place catering orders through Potbelly.com or the Potbelly App. Delivery will also be available through Potbelly and participating third-party services.
Opening in Ocala is part of a broader Potbelly Florida growth strategy, with more than 80 shops under development agreements across the state, including Tampa, Sarasota-Bradenton, Fort Myers-Naples, Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Gainesville, Ocala and Panama City Beach.
For exclusive offers and rewards, Potbelly invites guests to join the Potbelly Perks program, where members can unlock free sandwiches, cookies and special offers throughout the year.
