Jyan Isaac Bread is expanding its presence with an upcoming Los Angeles opening. The new location will be the bakery’s second permanent location. It will offer the brand’s popular offerings to the new neighborhood.

Jyan Isaac Bread Is Opening a New Store in Silver Lake

Jyan Isaac Bread will open its newest location at 2800 Hyperion Avenue in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, on November 2. The bakery will bring its naturally fermented sourdough breads and other baked goods to the neighborhood. The opening marks the brand’s expansion in Los Angeles, along with the growing demand for its offerings.

Jyan Isaac Bread is an independent artisan bakery and cafe based in Santa Monica, founded by baker Jyan Isaac Horwitz. The brand focuses on naturally fermented sourdough, small-batch breads, bagels, pastries, and cafe food. Its approach emphasizes traditional breadmaking techniques, fresh-milled flour, and long fermentation.

Horwitz started the business in 2020, when he was 19 and lost his job as a member of the bread team at Gjusta during the pandemic. He began baking sourdough in his family’s kitchen and selling loaves to neighbors.

The new location aims to combine the brand’s bakery offerings with a fuller cafe-and-restaurant concept. The space is planned to include 1,219 square feet indoors, with seating for 22, and a 204-square-foot patio with 12 additional seats.

What Will the New Bakery Offer

Jyan Isaac Bread is expected to offer the brand’s sourdough loaves, bagels, and other bakery items. Its planned menu will include a rotating selection of food that is centered on bread and seasonal ingredients. Plans also call for alcoholic beverages to be served on-site.

Its signature City Sourdough is made with flour, water, and natural leavening. Other varieties include seeded sourdough, marbled rye, multigrain porridge bread, baguettes, and ciabatta. Other offerings include fermented bagels, cream cheese spreads, cereal milk French toast, and sandwiches.
