A Thai and Hawaiian restaurant is set to open in a downtown Lancaster spot previously occupied by Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse’s restaurant.
Cozy Thai & Hawaiian is slated for a mid-November opening at 112 N. Water St., in the complex next to where Zoetropolis still operates a movie theater. Zoetropolis closed its restaurant next to the theater in August.
Cozy is owned by Michelle and Michael McKinnell, a mother and son who previously operated a stand together at Southern Market. The stand continues as Lemongrass under Michelle McKinnell, who was a partner in a restaurant with the same name that previously operated along Route 30 near the Shops at Rockvale.
The new Cozy on Water Street will feature dim sum, curry dishes and a variety of other Hawaiian- and Thai-inspired dishes
Michael McKinnell, who will manage the Water Street restaurant, said they are seeking a liquor license and hope to eventually add a tiki bar. The restaurant has indoor seating for 60 and room for 30 on a patio.
