VR Dining Miami
Visitors searching for unique things to do in Miami during Art Basel and Miami Art Week will have a new immersive dining experience to discover. VR Dining, an innovative concept originally launched in New York City, has arrived in Downtown Miami in collaboration with Novikov Miami, bringing together virtual reality, Japanese gastronomy, and immersive storytelling.
Located at Novikov Miami, VR Dining transforms a traditional restaurant visit into a 90-minute multi-sensory journey through Japan. Guests wear virtual reality headsets and are transported through cinematic environments inspired by Japanese culture, traveling from the energy of Tokyo’s legendary fish markets to the turquoise waters of Okinawa, the history of Edo-period Japan, and the atmosphere of modern Tokyo.
As each virtual world unfolds, a corresponding course is served at the table, creating a connection between the visual experience, music, storytelling, and gastronomy.
A Special Art Basel Edition – $295 Per Person
For Miami Art Week 2026, VR Dining is introducing a special Art Basel Edition, available throughout the week from December 2 through December 6.
Priced at $295 per person, the special edition features an extended multi-course Japanese-inspired menu, welcome champagne, curated sake pairings, and an exclusive immersive VR journey.
The experience is designed for guests looking for something beyond the traditional restaurant scene during one of Miami’s busiest cultural weeks. Whether visiting for Art Basel, exploring Miami’s art galleries, or looking for memorable dining experiences in Downtown Miami, guests can discover a different way to experience Japanese food and culture.
Japanese Gastronomy Meets Virtual Reality
The Miami experience features a multi-course Japanese-inspired menu created by the culinary team at Novikov Miami. Signature menu highlights include Hamachi & Caviar, Wagyu Nigiri, and Edamame Octopus.
Each course is complemented by carefully selected sake pairings, while original music and cinematic virtual environments bring the story to life.
Designed for intimate seatings of up to 10 guests, the approximately 90-minute experience offers a more personal alternative to conventional fine dining. Individual reservations are available, and private buyouts can be arranged for VIP guests, celebrations, corporate gatherings, and exclusive private events.
From New York to Miami
VR Dining was originally launched in New York City through a collaboration with Icca, a Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant in Tribeca, New York, and its culinary team led by Chef Kazushige Suzuki.
The concept brought together Michelin-recognized Japanese gastronomy, immersive virtual reality technology, and cultural storytelling, introducing a new dimension to the fine dining experience.
The original New York experience attracted international media attention and was featured by Forbes and NBC News, highlighting its innovative approach to combining technology, food, and entertainment.
Following its successful New York launch and international expansion, VR Dining has arrived in Miami in collaboration with Novikov Miami, bringing its immersive dining concept to one of the country’s most dynamic culinary and cultural destinations.
“Our vision has always been to create something beyond a traditional dinner – an experience where gastronomy, technology, art, and storytelling come together. Miami is an incredible city for this concept, especially during Art Basel and Miami Art Week, when visitors from around the world come together to celebrate creativity, culture, and exceptional experiences. We’re excited to introduce VR Dining to the Miami community and welcome guests from around the world,” says the VR Dining EPIC NOW team.
A New Addition to Miami’s Dining and Entertainment Scene
As Miami continues to attract international travelers, art collectors, food enthusiasts, and cultural visitors, immersive dining experiences are becoming an exciting addition to the city’s hospitality landscape.
VR Dining aims to offer locals and visitors a distinctive experience that combines Japanese cuisine with creative technology, making it an interesting option for travelers looking for unique experiences, special occasions, and things to do in Miami during Art Basel.
VR Dining is an independent dining experience and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Art Basel.
