Beans


Just returned from Mexico and their ‘refried beans’ are just so much better. They are darker and runnier. Does anyone have an authentic recipe?? They look like this-

    Those are probably re-hydrated beans. Ducal is a popular brand

    You cook beans, then fry them. Let them cool down and fry them again. It’s in the name “refried” beans

    Just add more water than you currently are when you blend them

    You probably already know this but they were almost certainly black beans, not pintos. It’s apparently a thing in Oaxaca.
