I’m confused about this comal


I decided to pick up this comal at a local market so I can make burrito sized tortillas. I have always made flour tortillas on cast iron or non stick. The recipe I use says not to use stainless steel.

I am confused because this comal looks to be made of stainless steel. I can’t find any reference to stainless steel comals online, they seem to always be cast iron or carbon steel. This is labeled “hecho en Mexico” so I assume it is a proper comal. Anyone know if stainless comals are a thing? And if not, could this be made of something else?
