This was my first time making salsa without tomatoes after noticing a couple different hot sauces with carrots as one of the main ingredients. I usually don’t add liquid to my salsa but it was necessary in this case without the juice from the tomatoes. The habaneros that I used were abnormally large and more mild than the average habanero
8 habaneros
1 smallish white onion
Head of cilantro
1 lb carrots
Salt
Garlic powder
MSG
Lime juice
Water from boiled carrots
Pan roasted the onion and habaneros. Boiled carrots until soft. Added to blender with cilantro and realized it needed more liquid. Added water from boiled carrots until desired consistency then added salt, garlic powder and lime juice to taste. Finished with 1/4 tsp MSG
