When you become wealthy or a big business suddenly you only care about lowering your taxes and squeezing every penny from your workers. Not all, but most. Subsequently, most businesses and wealthy people lean republican because they always promise to lower taxes and give them breaks regular people can’t get.

I want to be outraged, but it’s not like this is news.

Given the recent TB price hikes, I can order takeout from a local small business and get better food for the same price. And they don’t support right-wing nut jobs.

Sorry, Taco Bell, you’ve shot yourself in the foot. Just deleted the app from my phone and am removing myself from this sub.

  3. ceeby_is_sleeby

damn I literally went like 3-4 days a week. cut chic-fil-a out taco bell will be just as easy.

  4. Subterranean44

It isn’t just Yum! Foods. By a long shot.

If a person avoided all businesses that contribute to right wing causes/people the list of things/places you’d have to avoid would intersect every facet of your life.

  5. whereismymind86

That’s an unfortunate thing to read as I sit in a Taco Bell parking lot…I’m not exactly happy with them as is given the current price gouging, but Taco Bell going full chick fil a could definitely push me away permanently

  6. Concerned-Meerkat

Most big companies donate to both sides to hedge their bets.

  7. It’s $15,000 a year, hardly newsworthy.

  8. bigersmaler

A massive fast food conglomerate based out of Kentucky threw a few GOP lawyers a couple grand? Shocking.

  9. ryguy1400

A corporation is lobbying the people who protect corporations? Who would have thought…

  10. Endovascular_Penguin

I don’t care. Will continue to consume tacos.

  11. AirBoozehound

How is this news? This is to illicit negativity from 50% of it’s readers. This happens with the VAST majority of large companies with one side or the other and at the end of the day it doesn’t fucking matter. Life’s too short to care about such trivial things.

  12. PretendingToWork1978

A whole 15k. It’s the death of freedom in the world. Everyone wail and gnash their teeth.

Democrats would never, ever engage in any form of financial chicanery like this because they’re GOOD people, not like these BAD republicans and NAZIS.

I already frequent Taco Bell and I’ll definitely visit them tomorrow.

  13. jaysonm007

Well I’m definitely going to get my money’s worth from that Taco Pass now. I’m gonna get the most expensive item I can to cost these GOP supporters as much as possible!

  14. OldNight6318

I think we should boycott every corporation that donates to either party. Even on a philosophical level, how can they claim this is legit, while any other activity is treated like they embezzled from their stock investors. It’s maximize profits one day, but not the next.

  15. AleroRatking

It probably will save them a ton of money since they are a major corporation. Is this supposed to be a surprise?

  16. Oh, no!

A multi-billion dollar business based out of a red state gave $15,000 to local conservatives?

    Say it ain’t so!

Seriously, I wish people were as concerned about international trafficking, slave labor, and authoritarianism.

  17. Character-Bike4302

I mean look at Chick-fil-A doesn’t hurt or impact their business. As long as they don’t give me a side of politics with my tacos idc then.

  18. NeoMoose

How will you sleep at night after you uncovered something this heinous?

  19. Politically speaking nearly every major corporation funds both left and right wing causes.

I’m not a fan of it of course, but it is a reality that these corporations ‘need’ to stay in the relative good graces of both parties due to the fact that the US is relatively not stable politically.

  20. semiprotacoeater

With an annual revenue nearing 7 billion, Yum’s political donations in 2022 were a mere ~$80K, distributed fairly evenly to both major parties. It’s typical for large corporations to offer modest contributions to Washington.

  21. Sir_Jethro_Mcfeely

Wait what’s wrong with funding right wing causes?

  22. pinniped1

Corporations back Republicans?? BIG IF TRUE.

  23. Bright_Aardvark_4164

Thank god now it’s time to get some Taco Bell šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

  24. hotpan96

Anyone here going to start boycotting them TB & KFC like how they boycotted CFA?

  25. MutableBook

Who the hell cares? Just eat your food.

  26. mrcolty5

Showed this to one of my buds and he says “damn I always knew the company who took away the quesarrito would do this!”

  27. That why the food is so shitty at both places. Owned by the same shitty company

  28. Reasonable_Slip_3397

Of course the only news outlet I even follow is “exposedbycmd.com”

  29. baobaobooboo

I eat what I want you can boycott it if you want to but you’ll be miserable for it. Bye.

  30. bballfan86

As long as the food is still great as always I could really care less what they donate to

  31. MisterSpicy

hmmm didn’t know they wanted to be gay lol

  32. Funding those that want to slap life sentences for smoking the devils lettuce, while being the food of choice for said smokers. That’s a bold strategy cotton

  33. plurfectlife

Does this change the menu or food prices?

Politics are not on the menu.

  34. pedro3131

Interesting how this article talks about donations to republican candidates but not the 12,200 they donated to Sheila Jackson Lee or 11,050 it donated to Morgan McGarvey. In fact, in 2022 they actually donated more to D [politicians](https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/yum-brands/summary?id=D000029955)then Rs.

But hey don’t let the story get in the way of the narrative
