
I am looking at a recipe for Turkish eggplant and this is the list of ingredients:
700 grams eggplant (I use baby eggplant that are long and thin)
2 cloves garlic
3 tomatoes (about 300 grams)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
3 teaspoons salt (2 teaspoons to salt the water, 1 teaspoon for the tomato sauce, plus more to taste)
1 long green ābananaā pepper
Canola oil for frying eggplant
Olive oil
What pepper are they talking about? I know what banana peppers are, but theyāre yellow and strong tasting. I donāt imagine this is the same pepper theyāre talking about. They also posted a picture of the pepper and it doesnāt look like a banana pepper. Also why would it be in quotes?
