Is this considered a quesadilla?

Or does it have to be a single folded tortilla? My family said this wasn’t a quesadilla.

I wanted a more elevated quesadilla this time (with more filling hence the two tortillas). I used Monterey Jack cheese, white queso, homegrown dehydrated hot peppers (this one was mostly habanero, ghost, and reaper. Here’s one batch I did recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/spicy/s/pmM3kB9FdM), minced garlic paste, Hot Ones Las Calantes hot sauce, Costco chargrilled chipotle chicken, and lime juice. It was delicious! 😊 🥵

A quesadilla is a cheese taco. Queso = cheese.

If you use another protein like pork or chicken, it becomes a taco a burrito or a gringa.

It’s a quesadilla. Some places make them that way and just cut them into wedges.

Is your family Mexican? If so, where are they from?
