My dad has been dealing with dementia for the last several years. Unfortunately, it's not going to get better. He's a machinist by trade and the only thing in gardening he loves are his roses.
I'm with him for the next few weeks while his wife is away.
I brought my pepper and tomato seedlings, my grow lights, amended soil, fertilizer etc to set up at his house so I can get it looked after.
He threw out my soil and I had to dig it out of the giant compost bin lol.
I worked on measuring the slow release fertilizer. Dad mixed the fertilizer with the soil and planted the seedlings. He also drilled draining holes in the cups. The process was a little tough as he had to recall the steps. He got the hang of it eventually.
We got 31 down and 8 more to go (I ran out of soil)
Now, most of his kitchen is full of the plants. I do need to repot my other pepper plants into a larger one. I'll have to get to it next week sometime.
I didn't really think that my plants would take this much space. I hope the fruit loot will be worth all the effort! It's my first time starting peppers and tomatoes from seed. It's quite the learning curve.
