So, it seems like mushroomgate was not a 2025 one-off as was Jalapenogate was. This brings me both frustration as well as joy. Frustration at the broken system but joy in being able to help everyone impacted.
Some may remember our free seed distribution last year of Chocolate Scotch Bonnets – sent to your house, postage on us. We will be doing the again this year, though with no shortage of supply, and not limited to one variety per household.

Pic #1 is the third generation of our self-selections from last year. #2 and #3 are current growth of our "Jamaican Hockey Puck" and normal CSB phenotypes, respectively. Pic #4 are peppers grown this year by a recipient from last year.
What's in it for us/me? Why are they free? Black Mesa Bean Farm is just as much a community-building-phenotype-hunt as it is a farm, as much as it is an art project. Building a community, providing others a platform to begin a lifetime of gardening, and promoting individual micro-healing of the planet earth. I document my growing and breeding on 35mm which is my "output" if you will. I shy away from discussing that part of the platform here because it takes away from the goodwill IMO.
