I only ask this because I had 4 other young plants I "accidentally" topped recently, I cut them all down because they were attracting mice, but they're all still alive and producing new leaves where they were cut. The reaper plant is maybe 5ft tall, but a lot of the bottom stems are brown and woody now, the plant is a bit lanky, and each year after overwintering the new growth moves more and more up. Plus, in my growing conditions I only yield a handful of reapers a year anyway.
This plant is a bit older, but could there be a way to top this and sort of "reset" the growth lower down so it can start bushing out again and getting new growth?
