SEDALIA, Mo. – As part of the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation’s Drive to Feed Kids initiative, more than 950 Missouri FFA members, agricultural leaders, and volunteers will gather at the Missouri State Fair on Monday, August 17th and Tuesday, August 18th for the Missouri FFA Day of Service. Together, volunteers will pack 250,000 nutritious meals that will help feed Missouri children and families facing food insecurity.
What:

When:
Meal packing on Monday, August 17th from 1 to 4 p.m., as well as Tuesday, August 18th from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 t0 3:30 p.m. in the Lowell Mohler Assembly Hall.
A press conference will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18th in the Director’s Pavilion.

In addition to the Missouri FFA Day of Service, Tuesday, August 18th is Missouri Farmers Care Food Drive $2 Tuesday at the Missouri State Fair. Fairgoers can support hunger relief by making a minimum $2 donation to Feeding Missouri or donating two or more canned food items at the Centennial Gate to receive discounted $2 State Fair admission.
Drive to Feed Kids is a collaborative effort of Missouri agriculture to help address childhood hunger across the state. For the tenth year, Missouri Farmers Care Foundation, in partnership with ADM, Brownfield Ag News, the Missouri State Fair, the Missouri Department of Agriculture and the Missouri FFA Association, is bringing the agriculture community together to make a difference. Through meal-packing events, donated food products, hog processing, and monetary contributions, the initiative supports Feeding Missouri, the state’s network of food banks that helps to provide meals for children and families facing food insecurity.
