A Connecticut seafood shop has closed its doors after 18 years in business.
Westville Seafood posted on its social media that “after 18 unforgettable years, we are closing the doors of Westville Seafood at our current location.”
The shop was located at 1514 Whalley Ave. in New Haven. It served fresh seafood including fried and grilled, a variety of sandwiches, combo rib specials and a variety of milkshakes.
“Over the years, you became so much more than customers—you became part of the Westville Seafood family. We watched your children grow, celebrated your victories, shared in life’s milestones, and were honored to serve you through so many meaningful moments,” the owners said.
“Thank you for welcoming Westville Seafood into your lives and for supporting our family and our business for the past 18 years. Every visit, every kind word, every recommendation, and every familiar face meant more to us than we could ever fully express.”
The owners said it “may not be goodbye forever – but it is goodbye to this location and the end of a beautiful chapter.”
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who walked through our doors and helped make Westville Seafood what it became. We will always cherish the memories we created together,” they said.
Customers were very sad to see the shop go.

I’m “gonna miss this place. I use to work next door and go for lunch. Before working next door my mom,grandma would go for lunch twice a week. I then moved to another state and when I come back home to visit I would stop by and get the favorite. Thank you for serving for 18 years,” one customer said.
“Noooooooo!!!! This has been our favorite place for years!! It says something when you walk up to the counter, and the cashier already knows what you’re going to order (LOL, lobster roll, 2 Landsharks – one for while I wait, one with my food!) Best whole bellies. Amazing platters. Not one complaint – ever. What a loss,” another said.
“I will miss your lobster rolls SO much. Your clam chowder is my next favorite. I am sorry you are going but hoping you bring back your great seafood to another location!” a customer said.
“As the founder of the Society for Seafood Lovers – CT chapter we are sad to see you go. But we so much appreciate your donation of the 30 lobsters and 3 bushels of clams for our annual event that happened at the same time as your closing. Best wishes in the future!” another customer said.
Another business owner noted, “I’m just seeing this! I would have come by for one last goodbye. It has been a pleasure mutually supporting each other’s businesses. Such a great person to get to know. Just not going to be the same not having you there as an option anymore. Wishing you all the best on all your future endeavors.”
