According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, special agents began investigating allegations of sexual misconduct involving Robert Bailey, 53, in June 2025. Investigators said their investigation determined that between Sept. 24, 2024, and April 28, 2025, Bailey allegedly sexually assaulted two patients while working as a social worker at Centennial Medical Center.
A Davidson County Grand Jury returned indictments on Aug. 6, charging Bailey with one count of rape and one count of sexual battery, the TBI said.
On Tuesday, deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bailey at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida, according to investigators. He is expected to be extradited to Tennessee and booked into the Davidson County Jail.
In a statement, Centennial Medical Center said patient safety remains its top priority and that the hospital reported Bailey to state authorities after learning of the allegations.
“Patient safety is our highest priority, and our thoughts are with the patients affected,” the hospital said. “When we became aware of these allegations in 2025, we reported the individual to the appropriate state authorities and the Tennessee Board of Social Workers and terminated his employment. We have fully cooperated with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation throughout its investigation of the individual and will continue to do so throughout the legal process.”
TBI investigators believe Bailey may have victimized additional women and are asking anyone with information about possible crimes to come forward.
WPBF has reached out to Jupiter Medical Center for a statement regarding Bailey’s arrest at the facility and is still awaiting a response.
