LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Island News) – A popular Hawaiian restaurant in Las Vegas was recently shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) due to multiple health violations.
Aloha Specialties, which opened nearly 40 years ago in the California Hotel in Vegas, was shut down immediately following a routine inspection that was conducted on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. In an official report of the inspection, it was noted that a total of 31 violations were discovered.
However, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, a re-inspection was conducted where the restaurant received an ‘A’ for its inspection grade. The number of demerits found that time was a total of three.

Some of the previous violations included effective pest control measures, adequate handwashing sinks, food surfaces of equipment properly cleaned, among other violations.
