GAUTIER, Miss. (WLOX) — A D’Iberville man is in custody after a single-vehicle crash damaged a stand at the Gautier Farmers Market early Saturday morning.
Twenty-four-year-old Charles Kilgore was arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving, Gautier police Chief David Bever said.

Bever said Kilgore entered the market area from Highway 90, but investigators do not yet know why he drove into the event.
Bever said no injuries were reported.

Gautier mayor Casey Vaughan said he was amazed by how quickly people responded in the midst of the chaos.
“Our City Recreation Department staff, vendors, citizens, Acadian Ambulance personnel, and Gautier Police Department immediately stepped in to make sure people were safe, assist where needed, secure the area, and help with the cleanup,” Vaughan said.
He said despite the incident, vendors continued with the farmers market.
“Most importantly, we are extremely thankful that no vendors, citizens, City staff, or first responders were seriously injured. We are very blessed that this situation did not have a more serious outcome, and I am grateful to everyone who responded, remained vigilant, helped one another, and worked together so quickly,” Vaughan said.
