Stile Napoletano, in Watergate Street, will be recognised among the 100 best pizzerias in the world by 50 Top Pizza, with the official announcement to be made on Tuesday (September 15).

It is another significant international achievement for the restaurant which has also be included among Europe’s leading pizzerias and has grown from a small independent business in Chester into a name recognised on the international pizza scene.

Founder Giacomo Guido sees this latest accolade as the beginning of a new phase.

Coinciding with the international recognition, Stile Napoletano is preparing to launch a new menu designed to introduce a more contemporary and ambitious expression of the restaurant’s identity.

Neapolitan pizza remains at the heart of the restaurant, but the new menu expands the experience beyond pizza alone, with a collection of snacks and starters built around Italian ingredients, seasonality and modern technique.

Among the new creations are a pumpkin tartlet with liquorice, wild fennel and Giffoni hazelnut; a fried pizza bun filled with octopus, black olive powder, capers and burnt lemon gel; and a babà deep with gin-infused tomato water, nigella, almond, buffalo ricotta and sea bass.

Other dishes include a contemporary interpretation of Parmigiana, combining roasted and glazed aubergine, Piennolo tomato, provolone foam, Parmigiano, fresh lemon and tomato tuile.

Founder Giacomo Guido said: “We want to keep evolving.

“Being recognised among the 100 best pizzerias in the world is something incredibly special for us, particularly because Stile Napoletano was born here in Chester as a small independent restaurant.

“But I don’t want this recognition to make us comfortable – for me, it gives us even more motivation to improve.

“The new menu represents where I want Stile Napoletano to go next.

“Pizza will always be at the centre of what we do, and our roots will always be Neapolitan, but I want the experience around it to become more complete, more contemporary and more personal.

“This is not about changing who we are.

“It is about showing what Stile Napoletano can become.”

First opened in 2018, Stile Napoletano has grown into an internationally recognised restaurant with authentic Neapolitan underpinnings and a unique approach to ingredients, presentation and hospitality.

For Guido, its home in Chester remains an essential part of the story.

He said: “We’ve had guests support us here for years, so being able to bring international recognition back to Chester means a lot.

“I want people to be proud that something created in this city can be recognised internationally.

“And now we want to show them what comes next.”

Stile Napoletano’s new menu will launch on Wednesday, October 28.
