A Sacramento-founded Indian-fusion pizzeria has opened a store in an Elk Grove shopping center.
Velly Pizza opened Aug. 28 and is serving pizzas and Indian cuisine at 4720 Laguna Blvd. at Laguna Creek Town Center. The restaurant specializes in pizza with classic Indian flavors.
“Each pizza we serve is baked with a fresh dough, made from scratch and infused with seasoning,” the restaurant’s webpage read. “Our pizzas are handcrafted to perfection, topped with fresh vegetables, tender meats, and a variety of delightful sauces.”
Some of the pizzeria’s signature pies are an Indian garlic chicken pizza, a chicken curry pizza, a chicken Tikki masala pizza, and a vegetable masala pizza, according to its online menu. It also serves American-style pizzas like a standard combination, an all-meat pizza, and a Hawaiian pizza. Velly Pizza also serves pasta, salad and 24-hour marinated and oven-baked chicken wings.
Velly Pizza opened its first storefront in 2024 in South Natomas at 3291 Truxel Road, previously operating as The Original Chicago’s Pizza & Curry. Since then, the pizzeria has opened seven other storefronts in the United States, with two in Indiana and six in California. Here are the stores in the Sacramento area:

The chain also has plans to expand across the region, including south Sacramento and Woodland, according to its website. Velly Pizza is also opening a second location in the Natomas area.
Velly Pizza Elk Grove is open daily 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
