Texas Chili with Tender Beef & No Beans

This Texas Chili is big, bold, beefy, and loaded with rich chile flavor, my friends! Tender chunks of beef simmer low and slow in a deeply flavorful homemade chili sauce with plenty of peppers and spices. And true Texas style means one thing – NO BEANS! SO GOOD!

🌶️ **GET THE FULL RECIPE:** https://www.chilipeppermadness.com/recipes/texas-chili/

We’re making a classic Texas-style “bowl o’ red” with big chunks of beef chuck and a homemade chili paste made from dried ancho, pasilla, and New Mexican peppers. Toasting and soaking those dried chilies first gives the chili an incredible depth of flavor you just can’t get from ordinary chili powder alone.

We sear the seasoned beef until nicely browned, then cook down jalapeños, serranos, onion, and garlic right in the same pot. The beef goes back in with that gorgeous chili paste, beef stock or beer, Worcestershire, a touch of brown sugar, and masa harina to help thicken everything up.

Then it’s all about the low and slow simmer! We let it cook until the beef is fall-apart tender and the sauce is thick, rich, and intensely flavorful. Serve it with chopped onion, shredded cheese, crema, fresh chilies, Fritos, or whatever your favorite chili fixings happen to be.

  1. 😋 ouj 😋 you 😎🤘 work realy cool resept, what ewery one can work to home cooking👍👍😋😋

  2. Nice! When I make chuck steak chili with chili pods, I know it will taste so much better the next day, so I eat something else for dinner and TRY not to oversample the chili the same day. BTW, that is a nice cooking vessel size you have there. It looks really versatile.

  3. I like how 90% of the country puts beans in their chili. And Texas is just like nope no beans.

    Thanks for another delicious recipe.

  4. I really enjoyed learning how to make that chili paste, or as I would call it, gravy. There are so many ways I'd like to experiment with that. Mmmm. You're the Best ! Gracias concinero ( I'm guessing that means chef in Spanish, but I'm probably wrong).

  5. Would it be better to fire roast the veg, or does the dried chili take care of that fire roasted flavor? Could you do this in the pressure cooker to make it quicker? That chili looks amazing.
