Nice job! Definitely not undercooked, which is the easiest mistake to make

    Thoughts

    1. Break one open – let’s see the masa-meat ratio. The angle of your pic makes these look thin.

    2. What meat did you use and how was it cooked?

    3. Why did you cover them in salsa? Tamales should be able to stand on their own without.

I recommend going beyond the traditional tamale ingredients. One of my favorites is chicken, mozzarella, and tomato sauce.

The tamal should be with salsa fill already, so you don’t need extra salsa on top, but it does look pretty good

I did the DiNiro “Not too bad” face, and nodded with respect…

This reminds me so much of my Mother, she was an excellent cook!

  7. They look great. Practice makes perfect. I just made them again for the second time ever a few months ago; there will always be some “shoulda, woulda, coulda.” [my second ever go at tamales](https://imgur.com/a/65FVGD2/)

Looks good, was the corn dry or soft? If they were soft tamales you’re doing it right.

Looks good! No problem with extra sauce. Now I want a tamale 🫔
